Desktop Layout

The desktop interface is organized into three main areas:

Left Sidebar

File Management
  • View all your documents
  • Create new files
  • Search across documents
  • Import files

Center Editor

Writing Area
  • Rich Markdown editor
  • Formatting toolbar
  • Real-time preview
  • AI autocomplete

Right Panel

AI Chat
  • Chat assistant
  • Knowledge base
  • Image uploads
  • Document context

Header Controls

The header bar at the top provides quick access to:

Chat toggleOpen/close the AI chat panel
Theme toggleSwitch between light and dark mode
Save statusShows when your document was last saved
The left sidebar is your file management hub:
  • New document - Click the + button to create a new file
  • File list - All your documents in one place
  • Search - Find files by name or content
  • Import - Bring in PDF, Word, or Markdown files
Click a file to open it in the editor. Right-click for additional options like rename or delete.

Editor Area

The center of the screen is your writing space:
  • Toolbar - Quick access to formatting options
  • Writing area - Where you create your content
  • Floating menus - Context-sensitive options appear when you select text

AI Chat Panel

The right panel (when open) contains:
  • Chat messages - Your conversation with the AI
  • Input area - Type messages or drag files
  • Context indicators - Shows what the AI knows about your document
You can resize panels by dragging their edges. Collapse the sidebar for a distraction-free writing experience.

Theme Toggle

Switch between light and dark mode using the theme toggle in the header. Your preference is saved automatically and persists across sessions.

Light Mode

Bright background, ideal for well-lit environments and daytime use.

Dark Mode

Dark background, easier on the eyes in low-light conditions.
