Press Cmd+S to update two local files:
  1. The .md or .markdown source receives the portable Markdown content.
  2. The hidden .doxmind sidecar receives lossless editor state and rich-block details.
The source file is usable without doXmind. Keep the sidecar when you want the full rich editing state to survive a move, restore, or backup.

Export Markdown

Use Export Markdown to create a copy of the current portable Markdown. This is useful when you want to hand off a clean source file without changing the working document.

Export PDF

Use Export PDF from More actions (⋯) to create a PDF copy of the rendered document. Choose a destination if prompted; otherwise check the Downloads folder configured in Settings.
Exporting creates a copy. It does not replace the open Markdown document or its sidecar.

External edits

If the Markdown file changes outside doXmind, the external text becomes authoritative. doXmind rebuilds the rich editor state and refreshes the sidecar on the next save.
